Feedback Strategies
Honor the Progress, not the Praise from Leadership Freak
In the article, The Difference Between Parise and Feedback,
they discuss the importance of “Process Praise”. I found this idea to be
interesting and, in a sense, effective. It is important to give feedback and
praise in a way that shows the child their hard work is noticed and appreciated.
When doing so, be proactive to ask questions and give attention to the child. The Difference Between Praise and Feedback
In the article, Be a Mirror: Give Readers Feedback That Fosters
a Growth Mindset, it discussed about reflecting you feedback like a mirror. I
found this to be unique. I think when we give feedback that is not present nor
helpful it will not help us to grow. When acting like a mirror we reflect the
ideas of how they came about to a conclusion, and the steps they took. This
will reflect the readers efforts. Be a Mirror
Both the article tied into the growth mindset that we
discussed last week. I liked how we were able to understand growth mindset more
when we approach it with praise or feedback.
